Mold clean up takes many forms and techniques. Some people employ cleaning crews; others use chemicals to kill off the mold while many others opt for a non-toxic way of getting rid of mold. Cleaning up mold is one step towards getting rid of it entirely. After cleaning, you need to prevent the return of mold by identifying the causes.

You cannot afford to ignore, mold, as soon as it appears, get rid of it to prevent risks like respiratory problems and allergies. The best part about cleaning mold using non-toxic products is that you can readily find these items in your house. They are affordable, unlike chemicals that cost you money and they have no risks like chemical side effects. They include:

Baking soda

Baking soda is the one item in homes that has limitless capabilities. With baking soda, you can kill mold fast and also absorb moisture in the house which causes molds in the first place. Simply add a quarter spoonful of baking soda into a spray bottle with water and shake to dissolve. Spray the areas that have the mold with the solution and then use a brush to scrub off the mold. Rinse the scrubbed areas with water and spray the solution once again to kill off any remaining mold.

Vinegar

Vinegar enhances the taste of your food, but it is not kind to mold. It is acidic, which makes it a perfect cleaner for mold. Put vinegar in a spray bottle and spray it on the moldy walls in your house, let the vinegar work for an hour before cleaning with water. The vinegar you spray on the walls, and moldy surfaces should be in its pure form, do not add any water.

Hydrogen peroxide

Put enough hydrogen peroxide into a spray bottle and spray all affected areas. Let it sit for ten minutes as the peroxide takes effect and then scrub the areas with a brush. After cleaning, rinse off the area to remove any residual mold. Since hydrogen peroxide acts as a bleaching agent, it gets rid of all the mold stains. It is antifungal, antibacterial, anti-viral and very anti-mold.
